For grandparents (and aunts & uncles)

The kind of present they'll
still have when they're 40.

Toys come and go. A handmade puppet doesn't. The Bert I got in 5th grade is sitting on a shelf six feet from me right now — fur a little worn, seams still tight. That's the gift mom is making for someone you love.

A puppet you grow up with.

Why this beats another plastic toy.

Made for one kid

Pick the fur, the eyes, even sew their name onto a tag. There is exactly one of these in the world.

Built to be held

Real fabric, real stuffing, real stitches. Not the kind of seam that pops the first time it gets hugged hard.

A small story to tell

It comes with a note from mom about how it was made. Grandkids remember who gave them what — and where it came from.

Age guidance

Best for ages 4 and up.

Bert has long arms and embroidered eyes. The Standard size is sized for an adult or older child's arm; the Little size is made for kids 4–8. For littler ones, an adult helps wear him.

Lead time matters

Order ~6 weeks ahead.

Each Bert takes mom about 3–4 weeks at the table, plus shipping. For birthdays and holidays, reserve early — she only takes a few commissions at a time so each one gets her full attention.

Little extras that make it land.

Handwritten note from mom

Mom writes a small note about how your Bert was made — included free with every gift order.

Gift wrapping

Wrapped in kraft paper and twine. Looks like it came out of a 1980s catalog (in a good way).

"Your Bert is being made" card

Ordering close to the date? We'll send you a printable card so the kid has something to open on the day.

Ready to make a kid's year?

Pick the fur, the eyes, and a name. Mom does the rest.
